working principle:

PTC thermistor ceramic heating piece has special functions of constant temperature, temperature adjustment and self-temperature control.

When an AC or DC voltage is applied to a PTC element, below the Curie point temperature, the resistivity is very low and the temperature rises quickly. Once the Curie point temperature is exceeded, the resistivity suddenly increases, causing the current to drop to a stable value. To achieve the purpose of automatic temperature control and constant temperature, no additional temperature control circuit device is needed, and the living temperature of the PTC element can be adjusted according to different temperature requirements through formulas to achieve the required operating temperature in different application scenarios.

There are three types of chip PTC heating element structures: double-sided electrode lead type, single-sided electrode lead type, and side electrode lead type.

3.Usage precautions:

1) The PTC heating element has the characteristics of automatic constant temperature and does not require a temperature control system. Just energize the PTC directly.

2) When the PTC heating element is used to heat a liquid (such as water), the PTC heating element will not be damaged after the liquid is dried.

3) If the PTC heating element is used to heat cold air, the PTC heating element will not be damaged when the air is not supplied.

4) There are four electrodes for customers to choose from: electroless nickel + silver (can be welded), melt-blown metal aluminum, printed aluminum + silver, printed silver zinc + silver (can be welded), printed aluminum.

5) Long service life, if used in normal environment, the service life can reach more than 10 years. Our company's heating plate life test is at a high-quality level in China.

6) Reliable operation, using the internal characteristics of PTC to control temperature, it will never overheat.

7) Changes in operating voltage have relatively little impact on surface temperature. When the operating voltage increases by 2 times (or decreases by 1/2), the surface temperature increases (or decreases) by about 8°C.

8) When multiple PTCs are used together, they should be connected in parallel and not in series.

9) Different heat dissipation conditions make the heating power of PTC vary greatly. The faster the heat dissipation, the greater the power.

10) In general, double-sided electrode lead-out type PTC sheets are used, but for special purposes, single-side electrode lead-out and side electrode lead-out can also be used.

2) PTC ceramics are fragile, and a single PTC should not be made into a large area.
