Quick Reaction Time High Reliability Ceramic PTC Thermistor For Switch Power Supply
PTC is the abbreviation of PosiTIve Temperature Coefficient, which means a positive temperature coefficient, and generally refers to semiconductor materials or components with a large positive temperature coefficient. Usually the PTC we refer to refers to the positive temperature coefficient thermistor, referred to as the PTC thermistor. PTC thermistor is a typical temperature-sensitive semiconductor resistor. When it exceeds a certain temperature (Curie temperature), its resistance value increases stepwise with the increase of temperature.
PTC thermistor manufacturing process
The mixture (barium carbonate, titanium dioxide and other materials) that can meet the requirements of electrical and thermal properties is weighed, mixed and then wet-ground, dehydrated and dried, and then dry-pressed into discs, rectangles, rings, and honeycombs. rough. These pressed blanks are sintered into ceramics at a relatively high temperature (about 1400°C), and then electrodes are applied to metallize the surface, and the resistance value is graded and detected. The package is brazed or assembled according to the finished structure, followed by a final comprehensive inspection.
Application
The characteristics of PTC thermistor are:
1. High sensitivity, its temperature coefficient of resistance is 10 to 100 times larger than that of metal, and can detect temperature changes of 10-6°C;

2. The working temperature range is wide, the normal temperature device is suitable for - 55 ℃ ~ 315 ℃, the high temperature device is suitable for a temperature higher than 315 ℃ (currently the highest can reach 2000 ℃), and the low temperature device is suitable for - 273 ℃ ~ 55 ℃;
3. Small in size, it can measure the temperature of gaps, cavities and blood vessels in organisms that cannot be measured by other thermometers;
4. It is easy to use, and the resistance value can be arbitrarily selected between 0.1 and 100kΩ;
5. It is easy to process into complex shapes and can be mass-produced;
